Glide Guide: Turn a Spreadsheet Into an App
Tired of this? Your spreadsheet keeps growing, but finding one number means digging through tabs for half an hour, and every update means copying the same thing into three places. Glide is a no-code platform that turns that spreadsheet — or a Glide Table, or another connected source — into a working app with lists, forms, and user sign-in, without writing code. It is best known for data-driven mobile apps and internal business tools.
Two products with the same name: GlideOS and Glide Classic
Glide now sells two separate products, and this confuses many buyers. GlideOS is the newer AI builder: you describe an app or point it at a spreadsheet and it generates the app, on its own subscription. Glide Classic is the original no-code builder with the long-standing plan ladder. They are separate subscriptions — a Glide Classic plan does not include GlideOS. If you are unsure which one a pricing page is showing, check whether it mentions credits and AI generation (GlideOS) or editors, updates, and users (Glide Classic).
Who Glide is for
- Small teams that need an internal tool, tracker, or directory quickly.
- People whose data already lives in Google Sheets or Excel.
- Builders who want a mobile-friendly app without hiring a developer.
How to get started
- Create a free account on the official Glide website.
- Connect your data or start from a template.
- Choose screens and layouts for your lists and details.
- Add sign-in if only certain people should use the app.
- Publish and share the link; upgrade only when you need more published apps, users, or updates.

Strengths and limits
Strengths: very fast from spreadsheet to working app; good mobile experience; templates cover common internal tools.
Limits: two product lines make pricing confusing; costs scale with users, rows, and updates, so a busy app can outgrow the entry plans; deeply custom design or logic may need a more flexible builder or code.
