Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know how to code?

No. That is the point of these tools. You will still need to think clearly about your data: what tables you have, who should see what, and what happens when someone submits a form. That thinking is the real work; the tools remove the coding.

Can I publish to the App Store or Google Play?

Mostly, no — not directly. Glide and Softr produce web apps that people open in a browser and can install on their phone home screen. Native app-store publishing is limited and varies by tool and plan; check the official documentation for the current position before you commit.

Is there really a free plan?

Yes, both Glide and Softr have free plans, and both are usable for learning and small projects. The limits that push people to pay are usually published apps, user counts, or data volume. Start free and upgrade when a limit actually blocks you.

Can I switch tools later?

Yes, but it is real work: you rebuild screens and permissions in the new tool. Your data (a spreadsheet, an Airtable base) usually moves with you, which is why keeping your data in a tool you control is good practice.

GlideOS or Glide Classic — which Glide do I need?

GlideOS is Glide's newer AI builder with its own subscription and credit-based pricing. Glide Classic is the original builder with editor/user/update-based plans. They are separate products; check which pricing page you are reading before comparing prices.

Is this site official?

No. This is an independent guide. We are not affiliated with Glide, Softr, Adalo, Bubble, or GoodBarber, and nothing here is endorsed by them.

Do the links on this site earn a commission?

Not at this time. Outbound product links go directly to the official websites with no tracking parameters. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the full statement and what would change if that changes.

How current is the pricing information?

Pricing was taken from the vendors' public pages in October 2026. Vendors change prices and limits, sometimes without notice. Treat this site as a starting point and confirm on the official pricing page before buying.
